Rocky Lynwood Fortner, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Hospice Family Care at Redstone Village. He was born on October 2, 1953 in West Virginia and resided in North Alabama for the past 45 years. As the owner of Fortner Construction, Rocky was a home builder for over 30 years as well as a General Contractor at Redstone Arsenal for the past ten years. He was an avid outdoorsman and truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures including hunting and fishing with his son. Rocky loved Alabama football, chatting with his closest friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Mark R. Fortner; his daughter-in-law, Susan S. Fortner; and his grandchildren, Frederick and Frances Fortner. To honor Rocky’s wishes and in celebration of his life, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
