Robert Wayne Turnage, 59, of Fort Payne, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi to the late Dan Mack Turnage and Wilma Lou Nichols Turnage. He was truck driver by trade, but was a musician at heart. He played the drums in several bands through the years such as SJ and The Flyers and most recently Last Chance. As much as he loved music, he loved his grandbabies even more; to them, he was PawPaw Ribbit.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Carney officiating and a eulogy given by son, Sean. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 until the 4 p.m. hour of service.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Turnage; children Sean Turnage (Savannah Fay), Tabitha Turnage (Brittnie Boynton); step-children Josh Davis (Misty), Eli Davis (Kristen), and Brandy Bates; brothers Dan Mack Turnage, Jr. and Sidney Turnage; grandchildren Cameron, Elizabeth, Jasper, and Lena Rae, Jadahe, Neaveh, Aliah, and Kolbrin; step-grandchildren Jazzlyn, Lochlyn, Reagan, Jase, and Maverick; and 4 great-grandbabies.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter Ramey.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
