Mr. Robert Wayne Scott, age 80, of Arab, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Marshall Medical Center North in Guntersville, Alabama. Robert was born in Madison County, Tennessee on January 30, 1944 to George Curtis Scott and Lacy Vonnell Hillard. Robert has been married to Johnnie Lynne Mitchell for over 53 years. He has been a resident of the Arab community since 1985 relocating from east Tennessee. Robert retired from Sanmina/SCI where he worked as a Components Engineer. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Arab First Baptist Church.
Robert was a ham radio enthusiast and was a member of the local Ham Radio Club. He also enjoyed listening to many kinds of music, especially bluegrass, celtic, hymns and easy listening. He also enjoyed working with computers.
Robert is survived by his loving family including his wife, Lynne Scott; son, Brian Scott (Syra); daughter, Amanda Scott; grandchildren, Ira Scott (Elizabeth), Mykal Scott, Ian Scott, Mari Scott, Elias Scott and Joshua Scott; great granddaughter, Helena Moss Scott; and brother, Kenneth Scott.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Nell Scott and his brother, Gary Scott.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service for Robert on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. A visitation will be between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. with the memorial service following beginning at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Paul Murphy will be officiating.
