Robert Wallace Traweek – Obituary

Robert Wallace Traweek, 93, of Harvest, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday. He was a devoted husband, father and active member of Harvest Baptist Church. He also retired as a Master Sergeant from the US Air Force in 1960 having served his country for 20 years. As a member of the 442nd Troop Carrier Command (Squadron 304) he served in Europe during the invasion (D-Day).

Mr. Traweek was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Traweek; new born son, William Traweek; parents, Ella and Pascal Traweek; sisters, Pauline Allen, Gertrude Traweek, Ruth Traweek; and brothers Toby Traweek, Edward Traweek, William Traweek and Cicero Traweek.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Wallace Traweek Jr. and Larry Traweek and wife, Mary, of Huntsville; daughters, Peggy Traweek and husband, Ronald Peaslee, of Huntsville, and Rhonda Bishop and husband, Michael, of Harvest; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church (8999 Wall Triana Highway in Harvest, Alabama) followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 330, Harvest Alabama, 35749.
