Robert W.(Bobby) Whitten – Obituary

Robert W. (Bobby) Whitten, age 73, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was a tool & die maker, having worked at Ware Brothers in Tuscumbia, PMD & South Central Die Company in Florence & was co-owner of Consolidated Tool in Muscle Shoals until retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jo Ann, sons Jeff (Sabrina) and their children Hannah & Justin of Florence; David and his children, Collin & Lacy Claire of Biloxi, MS; Jason and his children, Lauren & Leah; step-daughter, Lisa McGee & her husband Charles & one very special step-granddaughter, Katie Parker, her husband Barrett, and their son Silas; one brother, Cullen.

Mr. Whitten chose cremation, accordingly, a visitation service will be held at Morrison Funeral Home 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 in the funeral home chapel.

The family requests no flowers. If you wish, you may make a donation to First United Methodist Church of Tuscumbia or The Colbert Caring Center.

Honorees are: Rowena & Thomas Heflin Kilgoar, Marita Bailey, Jim & Kay Luna, Juanita Bolton, and all of Bobby’s coffee drinking buddies at City Cafe in Tuscumbia.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and critical care transport team of the Heart & Lung Transplant Center at UAB Hospital.
