Robert V “Bob” Terry, 96, died Wednesday morning. He was born in Sprott, Alabama on August 13, 1925, to Jade Lee and Mary Lou Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catherine; his sons, Rob (Susan) and Tim (Kathy); grandchildren, Brenna Terry, Laura Terry, Matthew Terry and Mary Kate Hulebak (Gunnar); sister, Shirley Crawford (James); and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a proud veteran of three military branches. He served in the U.S. Army during World War Two, the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War and Vietnam Era.

Bob was grateful for the opportunity to represent the U.S. around the world, in front of all peoples, at any place, at any time.

He had been a resident of Huntsville since 1974 after the end of his military career and was retired from Huntsville City Schools in 1988.

Bob greatly enjoyed outdoors activities and raising an annually fine garden. He was a willing friend to everybody he met along the paths he traveled in life.

Bob prioritized his life by his faith, his love of his family, his devotion to his profession and his crafts, his friends, the pursuit of fun, and his appreciation of the rich pageant which is life.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Deacon Paul Keil officiating.
