Robert T. Beard age 89 of Dora, passed away September 24, 2016. He was born January 26, 1927 in Pine Apple, AL to Ziba D. and Phenie T. Beard. He was a retried coal miner from Drummond Co after 35 years in the coal industry.. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Herb Williamson will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 1-2 pm.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Margaret Beard; daughter, Diane Key (Mike); son, David Beard (Karen); grandsons, Tyler Beard and Matthew Creel; sister, Jane Little (Sonny); several other relatives and many friends.
