On Sunday afternoon September 29,2024, Robert Steven “Steve” Proctor, 66, resident of Walnut, passed away at Magnolia Region Health Center in Corinth.

Funeral Services remembering the life of Steve will be at 3 PM Wednesday, October 2 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with visitation from 1 PM to 3 PM. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery in Walnut.

Steve was born July 31, 1958, in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Robert Clarence and Carolyn Melton Proctor. He was a graduate of Ellistown Baptist Academy in Memphis and continued his education at The University of Memphis where he earned his associate’s degree in business finance. Steve was married to his beloved wife, Anne Linebarier Proctor on October 3, 1981, and was employed as a Logistics Manager with APL Limited, Ltd. for 29 years before retiring.

An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed the rural country, watching birds and appreciated all of God’s Creation. Favorite pastimes included grilling for family and friends, riding his ATV, deer hunting and fishing. An easy going soul, but moving influence on everyone he met, Steve was a joy to be around and his deep faith in the goodness of all humanity and love for the great outdoors will be among his lasting legacies.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Anne Linebarier Proctor, memories will continue to be shared by his sister, Donna Proctor of Walnut. Steve is also preceded in death by his daughter, Mande Proctor.
