Robert “Randy” Walker – Obituary

F.3.1.19 Randy Walker.jpg Robert “Randy” Walker aka “Wild Man“ and “Gentle Ben” passed away at his home in Tuscumbia on February 26, 2019. At the age of 70 years and four months, Randy moved to his new home that was prepared for him in Heaven. Randy battled 66 years with post-polio syndrome.

Randy was a member of the Cowboy Church of Colbert County. Randy was a member of the Boilermakers Local 455, and worked at TVA Colbert Stream Plant. He and Barbara were proud members of the Christian Motorcyclist Association/Shoals Faith Riders 756 as long as his health allowed.

Randy loved spending time with his family and friends, and loved to laugh and joke with anyone that knew him “or not.” Randy was a devoted husband, father, and papaw.

He was preceded in death by a special sister-in-law, Odessa Nichols Jarnigan of Tuscumbia; honorary brother and sister in Christ, Jackie and Connie Ivy of Tupelo (Pro. 18:24); his parents, Frank and Almeda Walker of Tuscumbia; brother, Tommy Walker; and in-laws, Joe and Lora Jarnigan.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of 42 years; son, Chad Walker; daughter, Olivia (Matt) Ball; three grandchildren, Hayden, Garrett and Kinsley Ball; brother, Bill Walker; sister, Sharon Manning; brother-in-law, Wathel (Doris) Jarnigan of Tuscumbia; and sister-in-law, Delores (Martin) Vickers, of Chickamauga, Georgia.

Randy was loved by many and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at Colbert Memorial, Tuscumbia, and Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Cowboy Church of Colbert County. Pastor Truman Sutton will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Butch Hodge, Joe Lathem, Donnie Moore, Joe Underwood, Tony Parker and Bradley Peden.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Walker, Matt Ball, Mark Pridmore, Duane Swinney, Danny Cottrell and Joel Scott.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cowboy Church of Colbert County and to the Amy Watson Breast Cancer Fund, 2601 Harding Avenue, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661
