Robert R. Bland, age 83, of Empire, passed away March 5, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents William H. and Carrie Lee Bland and his brother Ralph Bland. Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine Bland; children, Linda Bland, Kathy Henson and Gerald “Jerry” Bland; grandchildren, Monica Lergier (Marcos), Hollie Scissom (Zac) and Hunter Bland; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Claire and Cas and his sister Louise Ellis. Robert was a Trustee at Empire School and a Superintendent at NAL Fabricators. He also coached Little League baseball. Robert was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Warrior. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2020 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home. The family receive guests 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
