Rev. Robert Powell, 88, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Powell was born December 17th, 1933, to William and Olive Powell.
Mr. Powell is survived by his daughters Lisa Holt and Rebekah Fentress (Donald); grandchildren Hannah Fox (Morgan), Noah Eakes (Brianna), and Dylan Phillips; great-grandchild Willa Kate Eakes; sister Frances Broadwater; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Reba Campbell Powell; and sons-in-law James Thomas Phillips and Calvin Peter Holt.
The funeral service for Mr. Powell will be Saturday, November 12th, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Garrison and Rev. Randy Eubanks officiating. Visitation will be Saturday November 12th, from 11:00-12:45 p.m. at Limestone Chapel. Pallbearers will be Morgan Fox, Randy Wright, Dylan Phillips, Christian Boldin, and Noah Eakes. Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery.
