Robert Powell “Robby” McDaniel, age 48, of Cornersville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, at his home with his family at his side.

Robby was born February 28, 1978, in Columbia, Tennessee, to the late Bobby Lee McDaniel and Mrs. Kay Ogilvie McDaniel who survives. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.Z. and Margaret McDaniel and Bessie Ogilvie.

He is survived by his mother, Kay McDaniel of Cornersville; sister, Linda Bassham of Cornersville; nephews, Chuck Bassham of Nashville and Chase Bassham of Lewisburg; great nephew, Camden Bassham of Nashville; significant other Kelly Beasley, her daughter Taylor (Garett) Knox, her family all of Chapel Hill; best friend Rex Richardson; numerous friends.

He devoted 27+ years of service as a rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, faithfully serving his community along the way. He proudly served as the past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and President of Ol’ Cypress Duck Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing music through singing and DJing—pastimes that brought joy to him and those around him. He attended Cedar Grove Church. He was a faithful patron of the Country Diner in Chapel Hill where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be made to Camden Bassham College Fund c/o First Commerce Bank.

Visitation with the family will be held at Cornersville Funeral Home, 310 North Main St., Cornersville, TN, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 11:00 am.
