Robert Philip “Phil” Lovelady was born to Robert Clifton and Margie P. Lovelady in Dora Junction, AL. He passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, March 22, 2024. Phil was first and foremost a Christian. He loved Christ, his family and his country. He was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama and was a retired Major (U.S. Army artillery). In whatever he did, professionally or personally, Phil was a man of conviction and integrity. Those who knew him will miss the many debates and conversations on history, family and life in general. He will be missed by many, each for different reasons. All of which have their own special memories. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; sister, Sharon Harrison (Michael) and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will be held Monday, March 25, 2024 at Dora First Baptist Church with burial following in Shanghi Cemetery. Rev. Ken Mostella will officiate. In lieu of flowers Phil’s memory can be honored by supporting the Children’s Ministry at Dora First Baptist Church.
