Robert Paul Guthrie, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Known for his vibrant spirit and loving nature, Robert leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on those who knew him.
Robert was a passionate musician who found joy in playing the guitar. He was also an avid pool player, and he cherished evenings by a fire at the river, where he spent countless hours enjoying the simple pleasures of life. His love for these activities was matched only by his devotion to his family.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Eva Guthrie. He was a dedicated father to Linda Murphy, Robert Murphy, Steven Blair, and Holly Kuriger (Michael). His legacy extends to his grandchildren, Jamie Madison, Videla Madison, Autumn Scruggs, Ross Kuriger, Sumer Pennigar, Zack Murphy, Aaron Murphy, Anna Bella Blair, Rachael Blair, Jackson Green, Massie Bowen, and Avaleen Bowen, as well as four great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, James Guthrie. With a host of other family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Client and Phillis Guthrie; his sister, Bobby Jane Reno; and his Aunt Ann Cook.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Robert’s memory and the many ways he touched the lives of those around him.
Robert’s warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
