Mr. Robert M. Waller expired January 10, 2017.
He was born in Marshall County, KY near Benton. He was the oldest child of the late Robert Franklin Waller and Ruth Stratton Waller. He graduated from Reidland, KY High School in 1939, from Freed Hardeman College in 1950 and did undergraduate work at Murray State.
He served in the U.S. Army in 1943 to 1946 in the U.S., France, Philippines and Tokyo, Japan. He was assigned to the 305th and 42nd general hospitals as a Baker.
He was married for 29 years to Lada Pearl Thomason who passed away in 1968. Two children were added to this union by adoption.
In 1971 he married Juanita Stagner and two children were born to this union.
He is survived by his wife Juanita of Henderson, TN; a son Robert Adam and wife Amber of Gulf Shores, AL; a daughter, Laura Ruth Drieling and husband Anthony (Tony) of Henderson; grandsons Eli Thomas Drieling and Robert Titus Drieling of Henderson, TN; an adopted son, John Leslie Waller of Finger and adopted daughter, Jane Lea Waller Humphries of Calvert City, KY and a brother-in-law, Ralph Stevry of Calvert City, KY.
A brother Paul James Waller preceded him in death in 1961 and a sister, Dorothy in August 2015.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel. Burial will follow Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Benton Cemetery in Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday.
