Robert M. Haddon, age 89 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born on October 8, 1934, to the late John Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Norman) Haddon. Robert operated the first Texaco gas station in Frankin County before becoming the owner and operator of Haddon Repair Shop, where he worked as an auto mechanic. He had also been employed by the U.S. Postal Service, H and D Feed Mills, and Tinsley Trucking. An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed deer hunting, going on jeep rides, camping in his RV, and flying. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering for the University of Tennessee Volunteers. But most of all, Robert cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially getting to watch his grandchildren play sports. He will be remembered for his kind nature and desire to help others in need. Robert was a devoted member of Estill Springs Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Barrett Haddon; brothers, Luke, Tom, Marshall, and Bill; and sisters, Minnie, Jennie May, Ruby, Hazel, and Katy. Robert is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Laylon Louise (Mason) Haddon; children, Tom (Lynda) Haddon, Dan (Kathy) Haddon, David Haddon, and Robin Haddon; grandchildren, Kimberly (Bobby) Washington, Kyle (Savannah) Haddon, Aaron (Kristin) Haddon, Alena Haddon, Ashlee Huffines, and Kaylee Luttrell; great-grandchildren, Eli Haddon, Jax Haddon, Collins Haddon, Asher Washington, and Robert Hayes Washington; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Braddy, Bro. Winston Tipps, and Bro. Tom Haddon officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with David Cook, Barry Clark, Aaron Haddon, Kyle Haddon, Kirt David, and Robert Tipps serving as pallbearers.
