Robert Loyce Hughes Jr, age 87, of Summertown, TN passed away Saturday, October 08, 2016 at Signature Healthcare of Columbia in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN. Before retiring he worked as a mechanic, as well as for the Lawrence County Road Department and was a manager of a lumber yard. He served his country honorably in the Army and was a member of the Summertown Baptist Church.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert Loyce Sr. and Trannie Smith Hughes; his wife of 63 years, Lurlene Blackwood Hughes; three sisters, Ava Nelle Mudse, Imogene Giles, and Barbara Ann Eaves; and one brother, Bill Hughes.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2016 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 11, 2016, with Howard Kitter officiating. Interment will follow at Summertown Cemetery in Summertown, TN
