Robert Louis Smith, age 86, of Sheffield, AL, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 20, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with David Dorah officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mr. Smith was born in Boaz, Alabama on March 16, 1937, to the late R. Neely and Ardath Davidson Smith. He retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Sheffield Masonic Lodge #503. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Smith.
Those left to mourn his death are his children, Robert L. Smith Jr., Sheri McClendon, and Raeshel Lemaster (Lavell); grandchildren, Jessica Munger (Daniel), Karli Moon (Sky), Tyler Roberts (Jessie), Allison Handley (Cameron), Noah Scoggin, Robyn Lemaster, and Jamie Lemaster; and great grandchildren, Oliver Roberts, Lucy Roberts, Caden Handley, Grayson Handley, Holden Handley, and Evelyn Jo Jenkins.
Pallbearers include Wayne Bendall, Eric Suir, Cameron Handley, Royce Mask, Tyler Roberts, and Randy Ruthmiller. Doss Kennemer will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
