Robert Lee Thompson, age 94 of Madison passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home. Mr. Thompson was born December 19, 1921 in Limestone County to William and Mary Ann Taylor Thompson.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Hazel Moore Thompson; one son, Donald Lee Thompson and wife Martha; one daughter, Donnis Looney and husband Paul; three grandchildren, Ben Looney and wife Miranda, Christopher “Cricket” Thompson and wife Leah, and Nicholas Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Clay Looney, Colby Looney, Maddie Thompson, and Jordan Schrimsher, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Services for Mr. Thompson will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 3:30 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Lowery officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:15. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Lanny Towe, Ronnie Moore, Ben Looney, Colby Looney, Cricket Thompson, and Nick Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII and receiving a Bronze Star.
