On September 20, 2026, Robert Lee Boozer finished his work here on earth and went to his heavenly home with God. He was born October 24, 1946, in Turon, Mississippi, to the late Gilbert and Linnie Wallace Boozer.
Robert was a hardworking family man whose life was marked by faith, devotion, and service. He attended Smithville School, and throughout his life he believed his greatest education came through God’s divine guidance on his career path. He knew the author of his success and gave God the credit for it. Robert lived with clear priorities: God, family, church, and then work. He loved his family, served his community, and was known as a compassionate man who gave back to others and never took his success for granted.
In 1972, Robert started Star Printing Company, a venture that would become one of the defining accomplishments of his life. He worked there tirelessly, providing for his family and employing many people in the community. At a time when there were no computers or printers in the modern sense, his business supplied the working community with the tools necessary to grow industries and their businesses. Star Printing continued operating in Monroe County and became widely recognized for its contributions. Among its many achievements, Star Printing was named the number one Xerox sales agency in the nation for 1986-1987, a distinction that reflected Robert’s leadership, discipline, and vision.
His entrepreneurial spirit extended even further. Robert started the Monroe County Shopper, a highly circulated shopping publication which had tremendous success, with 10,000 to 15,000 copies printed and delivered weekly. It provided timely buying information to the public when no sort of publication existed. He was also co-owner of Sprint Boats and Nautic Star Boats. Robert was focused and direct when it came to business, often saying, “Let’s get this show on the road,” and bringing meetings to a close with the simple words, “This meeting is over.”
Even with his many accomplishments, Robert remained humble and grateful. He was known for his compassion, his willingness to help others, and his deep sense of responsibility to both family and community. Among the blessings he cherished most was the family God gave him, including his sweet wife of 60 great years, Sandra, and their two children and their grands. He credits their love and encouragement for a large portion of his many successes.
He served as a deacon at First Assembly of God Church for 30 years, a role that reflected the faith that guided every part of his life. He enjoyed fishing, working, and especially spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Ausborn Boozer, Amory. He also leaves behind his son, Jeff Boozer and his wife, Patti of Smithville; his daughter, Karon Boozer Monaghan; his grandchildren, Jessica Bolding and her husband Nick of Memphis, Tennessee, Whitnye Hale and her husband David of Denton, Texas, Taylor Ann Boozer of Smithville, Mississippi, and JJ Boozer of Smithville; and his great-grandchildren, Vera and Ollie Hale, and Amelia and Theo Bolding. He is also survived by his siblings, Marcie Tubb, F. B. Boozer (Mary), Sylvia Pierce (Jerry), and Allen Boozer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Boozer, and his mother, Linnie Boozer; by his sisters, Mary Silas, Jean Sheffield, and Dot Cummings; and by special friends Frank Owen and Dr. Roger Ratliff.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Amory First Assembly of God Church, 521 Tschudi Road, Amory, Mississippi 38821. A second visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church in Amory. His Homecoming service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Amory First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Bob Wilburn and Pastor Justin Myers officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with pallbearers being Terry Cummings, Frank Boozer, Brad Pierce, Mike Pierce, Mark Tubb, Danny Sheffield , Kevin Beeks and Chris Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Phil Faulkner, Benny Wright, Perry Knowles, Bob Wilkerson, Rick Sizemore, Bo Stevens, and Larry Sims.
Donations may be made in honor of Robert to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN or to the Friend of God Ministries, Amory, MS.
Robert leaves behind the legacy of a faithful man who loved God fiercely, worked hard, cared for others, and always gave glory to God for every blessing in his life. He will be missed by so many in our community but we celebrate his going home!
