Robert Lee Allen of Decatur, passed away peacefully at his home on July 4th at the age of 90.He was born on Oct. 24, 1935 in Lawrence County. He married Elhura Bendall on December 24, 1956.
He opened Allens Paint & Body Shop in 1974, working long hours and weekends to ensure its success. It continues to be operated by the family.
He also enjoyed farming for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ethel Allen; brother, Raymond Allen; wife, Elhura Allen; two sons, David and Danny.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Donna Rogers (Michael) and Deanna Suter (Steve); four grandchildren, Jennifer Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, Sara Suter and Emily Suter. One great grandson, Maddox Mitchell; brother, Donald Allen and close friend Peggy Appleton.
A visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on 741 Danville Rd SW Decatur, AL 35601Wednesday July 8, 2026 from 11-12 PM with a graveside service to follow at Roselawn Cemetery at 12 PM.
