Mr. Robert L. Harris, age 73, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. His body will also lie in state on Thursday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 27, 1944 in Maury County, Robert was the son of the late John L. Harris and the late Armentrice Brown Harris. He attended Bethel Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed his work as an automobile mechanic. He loved fishing and dancing to blue music. Robert loved helping others and could always make you laugh.
He is survived by his sister: Annie Frierson of Columbia; grandson: Quintin Cooper of Columbia; special friends: Joe Scribner of Columbia and Regina Brooks of Columbia; devoted nieces: Mary (Joseph) Fennessee of Columbia, Lisa Baxter of Columbia, Annie Harris of Alabama; devoted nephew: Steve Frierson of Columbia; a host of nephews; and extended family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Veronica Evette Cooper; and siblings: Mary Wheeler, Elizabeth Harris, Laviena Baxter, Daniel Harris, and Burpee Harris.
