Robert Gregg “Harley” Norman, 45, resident of the Sandy Hook Community, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Lindsey Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born February 1, 1972, in Maury County, he was the son of the late Robert Cornelius Norman and the late Margarette Helen Morgan Norman. Harley never failed to make people laugh, feel welcome and help a person in need. He wanted everyone to enjoy life, recognize the importance of friends and live life to the fullest. Harley enjoyed hanging out with his “buddies”, Walker, Noah, and Dallas, and his puppies, Anna Bella, Dazzy and Roxy. He enjoyed reading his Bible, especially his favorite book of Proverbs. He was an avid Alabama football fan.

Survivors include his wife whom he married March 12, 2003, Shelly Lynn Hanks Norman of Sandy Hook Community; son, Robert Michael (Caitlin) Norman of Columbia; step-sons, Eric (Stephanie) Chiles of Culleoka and Aaron Chiles of Pulaski; sisters, Ola Marie (Shawn) Skelton and Roberta Ann (James) Bolton, both of Columbia; brothers, Roger Dale (Beverly) Norman of Columbia, James Houston (Wendy) Norman of Shelbyville, Marvin Dwight (Patty) Norman of Williamsport; in-laws, Allen & Barbara Hanks of Munford; sister-in-law, Kim (Will) Buswell of La Vergne; grandchildren, Walker Chiles, Noah Chiles, Dallas Chiles; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eric Chiles, Chris Shaw, Curtis Carney, James Bolton, Shawn Skelton, Greg Polk, and Terry Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Walker Chiles and Noah Chiles.
