Robert Elder Ellis, age 78 of Greenbrier, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 12pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Brother Ralph Carter officiating. The family will receive friends 4pm to 8pm of Wednesday, February 24th and 10am until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
He was born September 6, 1942 in Cedar Hill, Tennessee to the late George C. and Maude Agnes Ogg Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Melba Rhea Moulton Ellis; brothers, Hershel Ellis, Ray Ellis; sister, Dot Justice and son-in-law, Mickey Petty.
He loved his family very much and enjoyed bowling, basketball and baseball. He was a 1961 graduate of Coopertown High School where he played on the basketball team.
He is survived by children, Scott Ellis of Greenbrier, Shelia Petty of Goodlettsville, Mike (Tonia) Ellis of Greenbrier; sister, Leona Ayers of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Whitney Nowik, Daniel Ellis, Ashley Biggs, Cameron Ellis, Cason Ellis and 7 great-grandchildren.
