Obituary of Robert Edward Crow Mr. Robert Edward Crow, 97, passed away Friday April 5, 2024. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday April 10, 2024 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Rev. L Dale Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Williams-Southside Cemetery.

Born on August 21, 1926, he was the youngest son of James Henry and Minnie Lee Crow. He is preceded in death by his wife Nadine Hyatt Crow, daughter Karen Crow Fortner, Son in law Hoyt Fortner and siblings Bettie Damaris Crow, Flora Crow, Charlie Grafton Crow, Ferris Winfred Crow, Jimmy Travis Crow St., Dewey Crow, and Frances Crow Woodard. Special thanks to Tammi Green, Donna Nail, Tim Hyatt, Joshua Thornton, Travis Crow, and Sam Collins for their dedicated care.

He will be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and others who dearly loved him.

He will be known for his love of family, music, and gardening. He served in the Army and was stationed in the Philippines. A member of the Gadsden business community for many years.

He operated a barber shop since 1949. Crow’s Barber Shop on 3” Street in Gadsden will be remembered not only for the haircuts he gave up until just a few years ago, but also for the fellowship he offered to each customer who crossed its threshold. August 22, 2017 was proclaimed as “Robert Edward Crow Day” in the City of Gadsden in his honor. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed reading his bible daily. An avid musician, his family will cherish his beloved instruments and his ability to play nearly all of them. The people he has touched during his lifetime are too numerous to count, but we know he will be sorely missed.

Pallbearers will be: Joshua Thornton, Sam Collins, Travis Crow, Tim Hyatt, Ricky Crow, Jason Crow, Zachery Crow, Huey Woodard.
