Robert-Pritchett-1459532341Robert Earl “Bob” Pritchett, age 80, died on Thursday – March 31, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Arab.
He was born on April 2, 1935 in Pickens County Alabama to William Pritchett & Levie McCool Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett was married to Zelda Allene Crawford for 51 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and later in the U.S. Army Reserves for 28 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. Bob moved here in 1983 from Marion Alabama. He was an educator and was principal at Arab Primary School from 1983-1989. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club, Alabama Education Association, Sunday School Teacher and Choir member. He did Mission work in Asia, Guatemala and Brazil.
Bob was a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was involved in several mission trips to Montana.
One of Bob’s favorite quotes was “Better Than I Deserve”.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Zelda Crawford Pritchett; sons: Chad Pritchett (Tricia); Keith Pritchett (Donna); daughter: Renee Gibson (Roger); ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother: O.T. Pritchett (Barbara); sisters: Eloise Mills (Bud), Anna Katherine Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Pritchett & Levie McCool Pritchett, a brother Leon Pritchett and a sister Clarice Stokes.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday – April 3, 2016 at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church with Brother Max Roden and Brother Jamey Pruett officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Pritchett, Layton Pritchett, Colin Pritchett, Ryan Pritchett, Ira Thrasher, Eddie Pritchett and Michael Pritchett .
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kelvin Harbison, Louis McBride, Larry Shoemaker, Henry Mann, Earnest McGee, Jimmy Burnett, Don Lackey and Deacons of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday – April 3, 2016 at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church.
