Mr. Robert Dewey Thigpen, 93, of Lexington, Ala. died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Thigpen was born April 3, 1920, in Lauderdale County, was a member of Elgin Hills Church of Christ in Rogersville and a retired Press Operator.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens. Burial will be at Grassy Cemetery with Tony Hudson and Dwight McGee officiating. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home.
Survivors are wife, Sarah Thigpen, of Lexington, Ala.; sons, Jeffery Thigpen, of Lexington, Ala., Burlan Thigpen, of Lexington, Ala, and Jerry Thigpen, of Ohio; half brothers, Charlie Thigpen, of Centerhill, Ala., and Donald Thigpen, of Centerhill, Ala.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
