Robert David Rogers, born on April 22,1943 in Fontana, North Carolina, peacefully passed from this life, on April 11, 2026, at age 82. He was a beloved husband, father, and good friend to many. His quick wit and ability to make others laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his parents Claude Larkin and Ellen Ruth Rogers and his brother Larry Joe Rogers of Conyers, Georgia.
David is survived by his wife of 63 years, Milly Rogers, his daughter, Jenny Sandlin, (Kris) of Harvest, AL., son, Dwayne Rogers, of Griffin, Georgia, grandchildren Courtney Stewart (Blake), Nathan Sandlin (Jessica), Tyler Rogers (Fiancé Tiffany), Justin Daniel Sandlin (Morgan), Cal Sandlin (Cheyenne), Alex Rogers, and his nephew Jamie Rogers, of Cromwell, Kentucky, great-grandchildren Trevor, Rachel, Graham, Becca & Bridget Sandlin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Limestone Chapel in Athens, Alabama on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11:00AM with Eddie Littrell officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 AM until 10:45 AM. Pallbearers will be Jamie Rogers, Nathan Sandlin, Daniel Sandlin, Cal Sandlin, Tyler Rogers and Andy McDonald. Interment will be at Reunion Church of Christ Cemetery.
