Robert Darrel Bassham age 56 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Athens-Limestone Hospital E.R. Mr. Bassham was born December 25, 1956 in Limestone County to Otis Bassham and Nella Skeets Bassham.
Services for Mr. Bassham are Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery with Randy Carter and Terry Lamar officiating.
He is survived by his mother, Nella Skeets Bassham of Athens, AL; son, Robert Andrew Bassham and wife Victoria of Kings Bay, GA; daughter, Stephanie Bumpus and husband James of Athens, AL; sisters, Sharon Brown and husband James of Elkmont, AL and Barbara Gwaltney and husband Kenneth of Scottsboro, AL; brothers, Douglas Bassham and wife Earlene of Minor Hill, TN, Charles Bassham and wife Joan of Minor Hill, TN, Donald Bassham of Salem, AL, Kenneth Bassham and wife Mary of Salem, AL, Stanley Bassham and wife Judy of Anderson, AL and Thomas Bassham and wife Janie of Elkmont, AL; grandchildren, Levi Kirby, Caleb Bumpus, Jacob Bumpus, Hayden Bassham and Brady Bassham.
He is preceded in death by his father, Otis Bassham; son, Robert Bassham Jr.; brother, Joseph Bassham.
Pallbearers are Dustin Griggs, Roger Dodd, Rodney Bassham, Jeffery Bassham, Mack Emerson and Tim Bassham
