Robert Daniel “Dan” Wright passed from this earth to be with his heavenly Father on June 7, 2015, at his residence in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, William Price Wright Sr., mother, Vera Grace Honeycutt Wright, and brother, William Price Wright Jr. (Billy).
Survivors are his sisters, Betty Virginia Wright, Huntsville, Alabama, and Lela Wright Ray (Wayne), Russellville, Alabama; brothers, Thomas Franklin Wright (Gayle), Decatur, Alabama, and David Wayne Wright, Shreveport, Louisiana; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dan was born May 29, 1955, in Decatur, Alabama. He attended Decatur High School, and after graduation he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his love of music. He worked in the music industry as a singer/songwriter and interned with the Parton family and Capricorn Records in Macon, Georgia. Dan became a video, sound and lighting technician with RSVP, Small Wonders Studio and Consolidated Media Services in Nashville and moved to Huntsville, Alabama to establish the CMS business there. He worked large events and concerts. Dan moved to the Tri-Cities area to work on his dream with “Muscle Shoals Sound.” After producing and playing with various bands in this area, starting a music video company, Wright’s Enterprises, he then began working with Ron and Dean Ballew at their businesses including Widget Recording Studio in Sheffield, Alabama.
A celebration of his life will be held June 28, 2015, at 3 p.m. in Decatur, Alabama at the Eagle Amphitheater at Point Mallard Park on the Tennessee River.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Association or any charity of your choice.
