bobRobert Clarence Bibb, Jr. (Bob), 77, passed away at his home in Huntsville Thursday, September 3, 2015, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on January 21, 1938 in Belle Mina, Alabama and was a fifth generation Alabamian and a direct descendant of the second governor of Alabama, Thomas Bibb. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert Clarence Bibb and Christine Kimery Bibb. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marijean Bibb; daughter, Leslie Bibb and son-in-law, Eric Wheeler of Birmingham. AL; sons, Mark Flatt of Huntsville and Michael Flatt and daughter-in- law, Diane Flatt of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Carolyn Bibb, nephew, Robert Nelson, and great- nephew, Nicholas Nelson. of Huntsville. Bob graduated from Decatur High School in 1956 and attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He graduated in 1960 with a degree in Business. Bob served in the Army on active duty from 1962 – 1964 and in the Army Reserve from 1964 – 1967. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He started his accounting career in 1964 following his active duty service and received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1969. In 1978, he founded Bibb & Associates PC, an accounting firm that supported local businesses and individuals with tax services that he ran until his retirement in 2010. While he was a man of few words, Bob cared deeply for his family, employees. clients, and Crimson Tide football. He had many friends in the Huntsville business community and his advice, counsel, and friendship will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held. The family has requested no flowers.
