Robert Calvin Smith, age 71, of Ecru, Mississippi, passed on August 18, 2026. He was born June 28, 1955 to Gary and Margaret Smith. Robert worked for many years as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed gardening as well as repairing computers and cars. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by wife Donna Smith; son Robert “Bobby” Smith and grandson Nathan Smith; son Wesley Smith (Malinda) and grandchildren Tucker, Evelyn Mae, Lincoln and Scottie Kate; daughter Janet Heath; sister Elizabeth Ann Thurmond and her son; three step-children, Christal Simpson, Cindy Bullion-LaWarre, and Angela Miller; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two long-time caregivers Felicia Forrest and Deanna England; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary Smith; and stepson James Scott Bell.
Visitation will be held at Browning Funeral Home on August 22, 2026 at 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:45 am. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Dell Russell will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Smith, Nathan Smith, Chris Morris, Dell Russell, Darian Bell and Ned LaWarre.
