Robert “Bobby” Guillot

Robert “Bobby” Guillot was born November 11, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Robert Miller Guillot and Patty Shirley Guillot. He grew up in Vestavia Hills and attended Berry High School. In 1978 he received a BFA from Memphis College of Art and in 1980 he received his MFA in Sculpture from Yale University. He then moved to Brooklyn, New York where he resided until his death on September 2, 2020 due to complications of ALS.

He is survived by his wife, Kazuko Minokami and his son, Wiley Guillot of Brooklyn, New York; his sister, Lynne Guillot-Marquet and her husband, Jean-Pierre Marquet and his nephews, Etienne Guillot-Marquet and Charles Ko Guillot-Marquet.

He was predeceased by his sister, Patti Guillot.

Robert Guillot devoted his life to his art and showed at galleries in New York and around the world.

A celebration of his life will be held in New York City in the spring of 2021.
