Robert “Bobby” Calhoun Love

Robert Calhoun Love Robert “Bobby” Calhoun Love, 75, the son of Mary and Quincy Love, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2019 after a brief fight with cancer. Bobby was born in Los Angeles California on June 13, 1944. He was a loving grandfather, father, and loyal friend to all who knew him.

He graduated from Huntsville High School and then attended The University of the South at Sewanee. He served in Vietnam with the 3/5th Cavalry, 9th Infantry Division during the Tet Offensive, and married Lucille Thompson in 1976.

He is survived by his two loving sons, Robby and wife, Caroline, Billy and wife, Deborah; and grandson, Alasdair; their mother, Lucille; sisters, Linda and Julia; and brother, Bill.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery, with a reception following at Saint Charles Anglican Church in Huntsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Bobby Love’s name to the American Legion in Huntsville post 237.
