Robert “Bob” Carden Ashley, 66, of Fort Payne, passed away March 28, 2025 in Gadsden, Alabama. Bob was born November 5, 1958 to Jerry and Sarah Jane Ashley. He is a graduate of Fort Payne High School, class of 1977.
Bob was an avid sportsman and enjoyed both hunting and fishing with his children and friends. He took pride in planting food plots for the various wildlife around his home in the Fischer community. Mr. Ashley was also an experienced wood craftsman. He spent many hours in his red barn carving
and crafting unique works of art. He was also a master chef on the grill and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
A memorial service for Mr. Ashley will be planned at a later date.
He is survived by his children, Blake (Sidney) Ashley and Amy (Jordan) Smith and his grandchildren, Drew, Harper, and Hadley Ashley and Elliette and Sterling Smith. He is also survived by his mother, Sarah Jane Ashley; brothers Gerald (Tammy) Ashley and Stuart Ashley; and sister Kelly (Jimmy) Sanders. He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gerald “Jerry” Ashley.
