Robert Allen Groce, 91, of Tanner, died Thursday at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Bass, Penn (Pete) Mullowney officiating with burial at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Groce was born November 26, 1924 in Limestone County. He was a member of Tanner United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Wolverine Tube in Decatur. Survivors include wife of 69 years, Rachel Groce; sons, Larry Groce and wife, Sue, Montgomery, Tommy Groce, Columbus, GA; daughter, Sandra LeCroix and husband Johnny, Decatur; brother, Bobby Lee Groce and Charolette, Athens; sisters, Mavoline Hill, Athens, Sibby Mullowney and husband Pete, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jessica LeCroix, Sarah LeCroix, Taylor Groce, Hunter Groce, Garrett Groce; nine great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
