Robbie Sue Dent Schneider, age 90, of Huntsville, AL passed away on July 18, 2025. Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ronald; her children, Roger (Robin) Schneider, Sharon (Randy) Nelson and Sandra Nelson all of Huntsville; and by her Grandchildren, Adam, Jessi, Jared, Jake, Anna and Andrew; Brooke and Mary; and Morgan.
Robbie was born into an active Methodist family in Douglas, Georgia in 1935. Both of her brothers became Methodist ministers and Robbie and her sisters were a popular singing group in churches across South Georgia. Mrs. Schneider received a teaching degree from
South Georgia College in Douglas and taught briefly in the school system before being courted by and married to a young professional baseball player from Montana – her loving husband, Ron – who was in Douglas for spring training.
Robbie, Ron and their young family lived in far-flung places including New Jersey, Bozeman, MT and the small island of Kwajalein in the South Pacific but considered Huntsville, AL their home. Travel remained a large part of the Schneiders’ adventures and they visited almost
all of North America and large swaths of Europe with friends and family.
A prodigious reader and an avid student of current events, Robbie was active in her church all her life. She and Ron established a living legacy of fidelity, faith and character through their own marriage and the lives of their children.
A final memorial service will be held in Georgia with the extended family attending. We will all miss Robbie’s keen mind, laughter and most of all the love with which she showered her friends and especially her family.
