Robbie Mae Austin Smith was born June 24, 1935 in Michie, TN, the daughter of the late William Harrison and Mary Lee Fowler Austin. She was united in marriage to Sam Houston Smith in December of 1997. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on August 7, 2007. She attended Michie School and retired from Schnucks. She enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and loved her family. Mrs. Smith departed this life on September 14, 2016 in Cordova, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 2 Months, 21 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Helms Bonds and husband Mike of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren: Kristi A. Maynard and husband Brian, Michael Johnson, Wesley Kelly; three great grandchildren: Marissa, Loralei and Carter; four sisters: Judy Austin of Michie, TN, Barbara Howard of Ramer, TN, Ruby Yard of Orange Park, FL, Sue Hearn and husband Bill of Collierville, TN; a brother, Keith Austin and wife Sherry of Michie, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Dale Helms and Randy Lee Helms; three sisters: Ruth Flack, Dorothy Austin and Sandy Austin; and a brother, Benjamin Austin.
