Robbie Ann McKinney Crittenden McWilliams, 84, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, December 04, 2012 at the Florence Nursing Home. She was a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ and River Road Church of Christ. Robbie Ann was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend. She deeply loved her family, church family, friends, and children everywhere. “Mimi” also was crazy about all of her “grand dogs”! She loved to travel but was always happiest when returning home. Robbie Ann taught Children’s Bible School classes at Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ and River Road Church of Christ and she also taught at Little Angel Kindergarten.
As the holiday season approaches, her family will find comfort and take great pride in making her well known Christmas candy recipes.
Visitation will be Friday, December 07, 2012 from 11 – 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bruce Blankenship and Sid Fulford. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. McWilliams was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cleo McKinney; first husband, Robert H. Crittenden; second husband, Charles A. McWilliams.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Crittenden, Jr. (Barbara) of Florence, Ricky Crittenden (Kym) of Alpharetta, GA, Don McWilliams (Linda) of Huntsville, David McWilliams (Theresa) of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Mary Martha Irons (Keith) of Florence, Donna Maier (Richard) of Lake Charles, LA, Debra Thrasher of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Martha Hibbett (George) of Florence; grandchildren, Trey Crittenden (Carolyn) of Auburn, AL, Jay Irons (Jennifer) of Florence, Casey Crittenden Freeberg (Craig) of Alpharetta, GA, Drew Irons of Florence, Lane Crittenden of Alpharetta, GA., Andy McWilliams, of Tuscaloosa, AL, Kaitlyn McWilliams of Tucson, AZ, Ashley Thrasher of Lake Charles, LA, Lukas McWilliams of Tucson, AZ; great grandchild, Anna Crittenden of Auburn, AL.
Pallbearers will be Trey Crittenden, Jay Irons, Drew Irons, Lane Crittenden, Craig Freeberg, Andy McWilliams, Houston Ennis, Thomas Hibbett, and Reese Hibbett.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff and caretakers at Merrill Gardens, Green Oaks Inn and Florence Nursing Home for all the love and care shown to her the last 3 ½ years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Heart Association.
