Robbery In June Results In Two Arrested In Morgan County

morgan countyMORGAN COUNTY-Morgan County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest of two men in the robbery on June 16th which took place on Antioch Road in the Somerville community.  Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin desacribes the events leading up to the arrests:

“Two Somerville men have been charged with a residential burglary which occurred on June 16th, 2014 on Antioch Road in the Somerville community.robbery somerville 1

The homeowner reported the burglary after returning home and discovering that forced entry had been made into the residence and an outbuilding. Numerous items had been taken from both structures. The losses, which included a home security system, totaled almost $3,000. A game camera set up nearby did capture two images of one of the perpetrators, although the images alone were not clear enough for positive identification.

The criminal investigation division (cid) investigator assigned to the case was able to obtain enough credible information, along with the photographs, to develop James Nathan Terry, 40, of Somerville, as a suspect. He also found outstanding an outstanding felony warrant from Cullman County for the arrest robbery somerville 2of James Nathan Terry on a drug possession charge. On jJune 20th, 2014, inv/Sgt John Dickson and deputy sheriff Tony Vest went to the residence of a known associate of terry. Terry was at the residence and tried to escape through a back door, where he was stopped by deputy sheriff Vest. A subsequent search of Terry’s person revealed a quantity of what appeared to be methamphetamine. Narcotics agents were contacted and responded to the scene. He was jailed on their charges.

Subsequent investigation led to enough evidence to charge Terry with the Antioch Road burglary on June 30th, 2014. Investigators were also able to identify and arrest Vince Edward Bramlett, 41, of Somerville as another participant in the burglary on Antioch Road. Bramlett turned himself in to the Morgan County jail on jJuly 10th, 2014.

A Dell laptop computer and a Craftsman lawnmower were recovered by the investigator and returned to the owner. 
Terry is being held on bonds totaling $110,000. Bramlett was released on $2,500 bond.”
