Road Conditions Throughout The Tennessee Valley

Road conditionsTENNESSEE VALLEY-Reports as of 2:00 pm today from area EMA and County Officials concerning precipitation amounts and road conditions.

COLBERT COUNTY- As of 2:30 pm there are no hazardous road conditions.  There is some light snow with no accumulation.  EMA is monitoring road conditions and officials believe that conditions will deteriorate as evening approaches please drive with care.

DEKALB COUNTY- The northern end of Dekalb County is currently reporting rain and roads are in good condition.  The Lookout Mountain are of the county is reporting  heavy icing and some broken limbs due to ice.  There have been reports of bridge icing on Highway 35 near Little River. The southern part of Dekalb County is encountering some heavy sleet.

FRANKLIN COUNTY- Reports show heavy snowfall in all of Franklin County. The roads appear to be clear as of 2:30 pm but could become hazardous as nightfall approaches and temperatures began to fall.

JACKSON COUNTY-  Reports show rain/sleet mix in the county.  Roads in Jackson County are in good condition and EMA is monitoring the road-ways as nightfall approaches and temperatures begin to fall.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY – The western part of the county is reporting snowfall with as much as 4 inches in accumulations.  Other parts of the county are reporting as much as 2 inches of snow.  Roads in Lauderdale County as of 2:30 pm were still in fair condition, but officials will be monitoring them as temperatures begin to drop.

LAWRENCE COUNTY Snow and sleet have been reported with no accumulation and officials will monitor the roads throughout the night as the weather continues to deteriorate.

LIMESTONE COUNTY – Snows has been reported throughout the county. road-ways appear in good to fair condition and will be monitored as the temperature drops throughout the evening.  Road crews are on standby if needed.

MADISON COUNTY- Some sleet has been reported and officials are concerned that the roads will become dangerous as nightfall approaches and temperatures decrease.

MARSHALL COUNTY-There have been no reports of ice on roadways in Marshall County.  County Officials are keeping a close watch on both the weather and road conditions as nightfall approaches.

MORGAN COUNTY- There have been reports that roads in the eastern part of the county are becoming slick and some ice has been reported in the Brindlee Mountain area and other higher elevations.  heavy sleet is now being seen and EMA expects the road conditions to become hazardous as temperatures fall throughout the night.
