Rixford Williams Sample, 100, of Florence, Alabama, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, from 11 a.m. until noon at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at noon in the chapel. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. She was a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sample was preceded in death by parents, Matthew Williams and Rixford Williams; husband, Alfred Edward Sample; and brother, Matthew D. Williams.
Survivors are son, John Edward Sample (Wanda); daughters, Patricia Ann Darby and Kathy Behel and her late husband, Danny Behel; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Special thanks to Rosa and Wendy, and all other staff of Mitchell Hollingsworth for their loving care. She was a very lovely lady.
