SHEFFIELD– Enjoy a charming evening of classic holiday songs with the Ritz Christmas Cabaret. There will be three performances on December 1, 2, and 3 at 7 p.m. at the Ritz Studio, which is next door to the Ritz Theatre in downtown Sheffield. Tickets are $15 and are available at tennesseevalleyarts.org or by calling 256-383-0533.

This holiday event, hosted by the Tennessee Valley Art Association, is back for 2022 after a two-year hiatus. Joey Wright, who directed the last Ritz Christmas Cabaret in 2019, is back as director and has brought together a stellar cast of vocalists to entertain audiences. The venue—the Ritz Studio—is small and intimate, adding to the warmth and casual feel of the show.

“This will be a great show, featuring Christmas music of all kinds and some very talented singers from the Shoals area,” says Wright. “There will be solos and full group singing, so if you enjoy Christmas music and want to start off the holiday season with a bang, come see our show!”

Cast members for this year’s performance are Karly Herring, Natalie Thrasher, Hannah Grace Thompson, Macy Ladner, Allison Cole, Jacob Adams, Tanner Rhodes, and Avery Guinn.

“The Ritz Christmas Cabaret is a really endearing and fun event, and we’re excited to bring it back,” says Jennifer Butler Keeton, who coordinates marketing for Tennessee Valley Art Association. “I attended the last Cabaret in 2019, well before I worked for the organization, and it was my favorite holiday event of the year. It feels like watching an old-fashioned TV Christmas special, but in person.”

Refreshments will be available at the event, including wine, beer, water, and soda.

Holiday events will continue at the full Ritz Theatre throughout December. Public performances of the children’s theatre play Prancer will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. and 7:30

p.m. Screenings of Polar Express with Santa and trolley ride will be on Dec. 16 and 17 at 6 p.m. Several other classic Christmas films will also return to the big screen in December.

For tickets for any of these events or for more information, call 256-383-0533 or visit tennesseevalleyarts.org.
