Rita Todd McGuyer, age 84, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Sunday, June 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a Christian and a Member of Valdosta Church of Christ.
Her visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valdosta Church of Christ with Chad Holder and Ed White officiating. She will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Rita was born in Russellville, AL and worked for the Tuscumbia City Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Leola Todd; husband, Ozzie D. McGuyer; and sisters, Betty Omara and Jane Braley.
Her survivors include her sons Wayne McGuyer (Diane) and Bobby McGuyer (Regina); daughters, Diane Lowery (Kenny), Debbie Byrd (Robert), Donna Butler (Ed) and Alicia Espinoza (Lee); brother, Jim Todd; sister, Peggy Kirkland; and thirteen grandchildren, Christy (Wayne) Parker, Tanya (Nathan) Herbster, Carter (Brandi) McGuyer, Derrick (Tiffany) McGuyer, Devin McGuyer, Amy (David) Orman, Robert (Jodie) Byrd, Drew (Adria) Butler, Katie (Cody) Hester, Jeff Butler, Brandon (Sara) Espinoza and Rachel Espinoza.
Pallbearers will be Carter McGuyer, Robert Byrd, III, Derrick McGuyer, Brandon Espinoza, Devin McGuyer and Drew Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Butler, Romie Senior and Anthony Parker.
