Rita Jean Downey, 94, of Harvest, AL, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
She is survived by her children, Rod Downey (Jeannie), Sue Thornton (John), and Nancy Bufkin (Robert); sister, Bernadette Chapman; grandchildren, Taryn Elledge (Randy), Shanna Ananyev (Sergey), Travis Downey (Charis) and Heather Edens (Anthony); along with 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her husband, William Downey; and parents, Michael and Nancy Delmark.
God was her best friend, constant helper, and comforter. She loved and faithfully prayed for her family. Rita will forever be remembered as a prayer warrior and will be deeply missed by all.
The family will have a private memorial service. Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
