Rita Gayle Young
July 17, 1954 – December 21, 2025
Rita Gayle Young, 71, of Decatur, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2025.
Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was beyond words. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews were the joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Rita loved the Lord deeply, and her faith was the foundation of her life. She lived with grace, compassion, and strength, always placing others before herself. Her legacy of faith and love will continue to live on through her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rickey Don Young Sr.; their children, Danita Dale Young (Frankie Harris), Hubert Bruce Young, Robie Dee Letson (Doug Letson), and Rickey Don Young Jr.; her sisters, Richie Shadden and Beverly Scoggins; her grandchildren, Joseph Don Bailey (Haley Beth Bailey), Amber Nicole Letson, MaKenzie Marie Letson, Jordon Don Young, Gavin Nathaniel Young, Cameron Dewayne Young, Abbie Claire Young, Victoria Young, Isaiah Young, Andrew Young, Isabella Young, and Selah Grace Young; her great-grandchildren, Gunner Joseph Bailey, Isabella Sue Bailey, and Karson Scott Bailey; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandchild, Taylor Elizabeth Letson, and her precious great-grandchild, Greyson Wray Young.
Rita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.
