Mrs. Rita Faye Stowers
September 9, 1956 – December 16, 2024
Rita was born September 9, 1956 in Swift Town, Mississippi. She was the oldest born to Lillian Roberts and Charlie Lacy.
Rita was educated in the Chicago Public Schools at Westin House High School. At a very early age, she confessed her life to Christ. She married her soulmate Donald so the journey began. They were married for 32 loving years.
She worked and retired from United States Postal Service for many years. She found great pleasure in mentoring others, helping when she could, and spending quality time with her family.
Rita made her peaceful transition from this life on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald; mother, Lillian Landingham; and father, Charlie Lacy.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving daughter, Dartanya Fields (Anthony); son, Andre Williams; three grandsons: Tariq Epkins, Anthony Fields, Jr. (Dominique), and Lee Johnson; two great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Joann Fields officiating.
The Stowers family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
Public viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
