Funeral services for Rita Brown Easterwood, age 62, of Ashland will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery.
Rita was born in Clay in Clay County and was known as a hard working woman that had worked at several places including Bemiston, Tyson Foods, Wellborn Cabinets, and many other places. She loved to sing and play piano and guitar, loved to read with her favorite authors being, James Patterson and Stephen King and also was a big Auburn fan.
She is survived by two sisters, Neati Faye Yarbrough (John Ervin Jones) of Ashland and Sally Jane Turley (Eric) of Ashland, two brothers, James Robert Brown (Carie) of Pell City and Sherman Joseph Brown of Ashland, step-children, Shannon Orlando, Brandon Easterwood, Chad Easterwood, all of Arkansas and Bobby Easterwood of Talladega, her grandchildren, Shelbie Wills of Alpine, Tyler Whatley of Ocala, Florida and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews, beloved dogs, Dagger, Belle, and Shag, and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Junior and Faye Brown; her stepmother, Madura Brown; her husband, Charles Easterwood; and a son, Phillip Shane Wills.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Alexander Yarbrough, Shelbie Wills, Tyler Whatley, Daveen Mae, Johnny Mack Brown, Bradley Brown, and David Kale.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Tuesday December 5, 2023 from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. and until service time on Wednesday.
