Ricky Earl Montgomery was born Sept. 8, 1955, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence Alabama the son of Jean Tidwell and the late Elmer Earl Montgomery. He was united in marriage to Kathy West on June 3, 1988. Mr. Montgomery departed this life at ELiza Coffee Memorial Hospital on March 1, 2017, in Florence, Alabama at the age of 61 years, five months, and 21 days.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy West Montgomery, of Florence, Alabama; two sons, Lee White and wife, Tonya, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Rocky White and wife, Lisa, of Hueytown, Alabama; three sisters, Kay McMullan, of Florence, Alabama, Vicky Williams and husband, Jerry, of Florence, Alabama, and Melissa Brewer and husband, Randy, of Collinwood, Tennessee; mother, Jean Tidwell Montgomery; six grandchildren, Ashton and Dylan Hill, Brittney, Austin and Abby Fish, and Jessica Keeton; and two great-grandchildren Sterling Fish and Ellie Haithcoat.
In addition to his father, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by nephews, Vance McMullan and Tatum McMullan, and grandparents, Anderson and Lina Montgomery and Clyde and Mary Tidwell.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, Tennessee with Nick Franks and Ricky West officiating, with burial following in Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee. Pallbearers include Dalton McMullan, Sonny Williams, Javen Clanton, Chisholm Atkinson, Dylan Hill, and Austin Fish. His close friends are honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
