Ricky C. Tharp, passed away on March 27, 2017 at Russellville Hospital. Mr. Tharp was born, reared, and lived his whole life in Tharptown, Alabama. He loved being part of the Tharptown community and lived his life for his wife, kids, and grandkids. He never missed an opportunity to keep his grandkids. His hobbies included muscle cars and Alabama football.
Visitation for Mr. Tharp will be today, March 29, 2017 from 6 p.m. through 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Services will be Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Tharptown Baptist Church with Eddie Wix and Billy Thorn officiating. Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery, Russellville.
Pallbearers will be Blake Hargett, Taylor Hargett, Drennon Hovater, Trenton Hovater, Bo South, and Joel Uptain.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Charlotte Tharp; and children, Brandon and Bridget Tharp, Jason and Brooke Harris, Rikki and Jessica Tharp, Brittney Tharp Williams, Keslie Kirby Defoor, and Patrick and Lauren Tharp. Siblings include Betty (Randall) Hall and Brenda (Tim) Hovater. His grandchildren are Klaudia Harris, Autumn Tharp, Jacie Harris, Madie Harris, Ashton Tharp, Addy Williams, Tensley Tharp, Beth Tharp, Chase Defoor, Ray Harris, and Makenzie Tharp. Nieces, nephews and friends also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Esther Tharp; granddaughter, Gracie Kay; grandson, Landon Alexander, and Peanut, his beloved dog.
His family takes comfort in knowing that when his life on earth ended, that he is now rejoicing in Heaven with his Savior and loved ones who preceded him.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, will be assisting the family.
